Promoting Equal pay in Albuquerque

National research shows that women, on average, make 77 cents for every dollar earned by a man. A new wage equity ordinance in Albuquerque aims to address the wage gap between men and women.

Martha Burk, a political psychologist and author of”YOUR VOICE, YOUR VOTE: THE SAVVY WOMAN’S GUIDE TO POWER, POLITICS, AND THE CHANGE WE NEED,”played a key role in the creation of Albuquerque’s wage equity ordinance. She sat down recently with our correspondent, Megan Kamerick, to talk about the measure and the issue of equal pay.
