Andrade, Maude
Maude Andrade, a mixed media painter, grew up in a family of artists and eccentrics. She has lived in Tennessee, California, Maine, New Hampshire, and New Mexico where she has spent most of her life. In 1987 she graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Botany and a minor in Chemistry, and began a successful career in textile design, earning national recognition for her innovative graphics and surface design techniques. Through her studies at the Harwood Art Center in Albuquerque and mentoring from influential New Mexico artists, she began painting in 2005. Her paintings have been exhibited in group shows at the Albuquerque Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, the Harwood Museum in Taos, The Cole Art Center in Nacodoces, Texas, and The Department of Art and Design, Tipton Gallery at East Tennessee Stare University. Her work is represented by Patina Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico and in the Fidelity Investments Corporate Art Collection.
