El Moisés

Currently based in Albuquerque, Moisés was born in Baja, California in Mexico. He moved with his family to Arizona as a young boy, but his childhood was spent on both sides of the border as he made frequent visits to relatives in Mexico. His upbringing was a blend of cultures; he celebrated Día de los Muertos with his family in Mexico and painted lowriders with his father in the Phoenix barrio. Elements from both worlds, layered with Moisés’ personal flair and imagination, led to the distinct new contemporary / folk art style he shares today.
