ANNE COLE
From raw wood into a fine musical instrument, Albuquerque luthier Anne Cole creates beautiful one-of-a-kind violins, violas and cellos.

“(The thing) I love most about making instruments is the actual process, the actual feeling of the wood under your hands.”

BASS STRUCTURES
Emmanuel Fritz and Collin Schipper found an intersection between painting and sound engineering called Bass Structures.

EMMA BRANDENBURG
Sixth grader Emma Brandenburg and her violin are the perfect match. She loves to make music and music makes her a better student.

“Music makes me a better student because in music, you have to count rhythms and you do math in music. And that actually has made me get an ‘A’ this year in math.”

DAVID HOCKNEY
Painter, draughtsman, printmaker, stage designer and photographer, David Hockney never stops reinventing himself. He shares how his photographic process is a form of painting.
