Hudock, Michael
Michael Hudock studied painting and drawing at Delta Community College College in Michigan and photography at Western Michigan University before moving to New Mexico 1978. He received a BS degree in education from the University of New Mexico in 1989. Hudock has worked with a variety of photographic processes including traditional black and white materials, Polaroid films, gum dichromate, liquid emulsions, and digital imaging. He began painting again in 1996, strongly influenced by urban decay, the weathered surface of buildings, old walls, and Dumpsters. His interest in timeworn objects and surfaces is a consistent theme in his photographic work as well as being the subject of his paintings. Hudock’s work is in collections at the Polaroid Corporation, the New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts, and Ohio Wesleyan University, as well as numerous national and international private collections. He has taught at Sandia Preparatory School in Albuquerque since 1989 and is represented in Santa Fe by GF Contemporary.
