Republicans Flip CD2, Lujan Beats Ronchetti
November 6, 2020 – Gene Grant and The Line opinion panelists break down results from key elections in New Mexico. They first look at the Senate race and the especially contentious race for the 2nd Congressional District. Democrat U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján will move over to the Senate in January. He won the race against Republican Mark Ronchetti, but by a smaller margin than predicted. In southern New Mexico, Republican Yvette Herrell ousted first-time U.S. Rep. Xochitl Torres Small. New Mexico also sends to Washington the largest all-female congressional delegation in the nation’s history, as three women of color represent the state in the U.S. House of Representatives.
