Musicians Muted by Pandemic
January 22, 2021 – The entertainment industry is hurting in New Mexico. With Covid-19 infections and public health orders barring musicians and other artists alike from performing live in front of crowds, money is running dangerously low for those relying on large gatherings to pay the bills. To make matters worse, New Mexicans in the creative economy have missed out on the aid that has helped so many others. Correspondent Megan Kamerick talks with band manager Sydney Counce about how she’s managing to keep herself and the band above water.
