The current state of journalism with Richard B. Stolley, Jobs in NM, & the week’s more notable headlines
This week on New Mexico in Focus, journalist and former editor of Time, Life and People magazines Richard B. Stolley is in studio. Stolley covered the tumultuous integration of the South for Life as well as the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Now a resident of Santa Fe, Stolley talks with correspondent Gwyneth Doland about his life in journalism and the current state of the profession.
The Line opinion panel looks at jobs in New Mexico and what it takes to lure companies to the state. Recent controversy over a last minute tax package rushed through the Legislature has focused on its overall impact on New Mexico’s economy. And the promise of much-needed jobs in Cibola and McKinley counties comes with a history, as a mining company seeks uranium on environmentally and culturally sensitive lands.
The panel also looks at recent instances of high school sports players chastised for speaking Spanish during competition. And of course the Line goes on the clock to discuss some of the week’s more notable headlines.
