Jobs and Economic Development with Mark Lautman and Ian Anderson

On the next New Mexico in Focus, we talk about jobs and economic development with Mark Lautman and Ian Anderson.

Mark Lautman is an economic architect, author and the founding director of the Community Economics Lab. Lautman joins us to talk about the New Mexico Legislative Jobs Council and he tells us the types of jobs the state needs in order to support future growth and economic development.

Ian Anderson is the outgoing publisher of Albuquerque Business First. He sits down with Gene Grant to talk about his time in New Mexico and the changes he oversaw at the paper, which included increasing digital content.

Host Gene Grant and this week’s Line opinion panelists discuss reports that millennials are leaving Albuquerque for other cities like Denver. The panelists debate a proposed change in federal policy on sanctuary cities that could impact the city of Santa Fe and they discuss the announcement this week that the Santa Fe police chief Eric Garcia has resigned after only 13 months on the job.
