Cuba and the historic foreign policy change, Animas river spill, APS superintendent

On the next New Mexico in Focus, we get a local take on renewed diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled to arrive in Cuba this week to open the U.S. embassy in Havana. Three New Mexico residents who were born in Cuba and came to the U.S. as young people will share their reflections on this historic change in foreign policy.

Host Gene Grant and this week’s Line opinion panelists talk about some of the top news stories in New Mexico this week, including the spill this week in the Animas River that impacted communities in New Mexico and Colorado. They also discuss the announcement that Google is moving operations for Titan Aerospace from Moriarty to the Bay Area and the panelists react to the release of text messages from the new APS superintendent to an APS staff member, which he intended to send to New Mexico Education Secretary Hanna Skandera.
