New and encore Interviews on issues important to New Mexicans

NEW MEXICO IN FOCUS features a mix of new and encore interviews on issues important to New Mexicans.

Hunger – The holidays are often a time when the reality of hunger in our communities is brought to the forefront; however, many New Mexicans struggle to put food on the table throughout the year. Producer Sarah Gustavus sits down with a local leader to talk about the myths and misconceptions about hunger in New Mexico.

Earlier this fall, Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst and outspoken critic of U.S. foreign policies, came to Albuquerque to speak at an event with the local chapter of Veterans for Peace. He spoke with producer Sarah Gustavus and ABQ city councilor Rey Garduño about N.M.’s role in the national conversation about international policy.

NMIF also re-visits notable conversations from the past year. They include a discussion about Albuquerque’s Pay Equity Ordinance that went into effect July 1st, fracking in communities across the state, and the national farm to table movement.
