A Conversation With The Outgoing CEO Of The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce
March 31, 2017 – After retiring as an executive from a 35-year career in the banking industry, Alex Romero took on the role of president and CEO of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce. After 12 years at the helm of that Chamber, Mr. Romero will retire at the end of April, when he reaches the age of 70.
The city’s Hispano Chamber is the largest Chamber of Commerce in New Mexico, larger even than the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. Correspondent Megan Kamerick talks with Mr. Romero this week about how the two chambers complement each other in fostering a healthy economy for the city and state. They also discuss his successes at the chamber and his hopes for its future – and his own future after retirement.
