Conflicted Elections

November 13, 2020 – Correspondent Russell Contreras talks to Rachel Kleinfeld, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Kleinfeld has spent her career studying violent regimes and elections around the world. Now, she’s authored a guide for U.S. journalists—and the public—to understanding media coverage in conflict elections. Dr. Kleinfeld explains how the idea for the guide was born and how journalists who have covered conflict elections in other countries can inform America about defining political differences.
