DA Refiles Charges Against Steven Baca

July 17, 2020 – Gene Grant and The Line opinion panel look at District Attorney Raul Torrez’ recent decision to refile charges against Steven Baca, the man accused of shooting protester Scott Williams at a protest over an Oñate statue near Albuquerque’s Old Town last month. Torrez asked State Police to investigate after Albuquerque police filed an incomplete report. The new investigation bolsters Torrez’s case against Baca, even as the accused’s attorney claims video from the shooting shows it was in self-defense.
