Grading Legislation
February 24, 2017 – It’s a challenge for everyday New Mexicans to keep track of what’s happening in Santa Fe during the legislative session. Bills are introduced and then travel through an amendment process that can be daunting to follow. Some groups are “grading” bills this year to try to provide people, including lawmakers, with more information about the strengths and weaknesses of proposed legislation.
This week, correspondent Gwyneth Doland sits down with SPJ Rio Grande board member Matt Grubs to learn more about their Access-o-Meter and Sarah Gustavus looks at report cards released by the New Mexico SAFE coalition.
