Local Cubans Share Childhood Memories
August 14, 2015 – U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is in Cuba this week to officially open the American Embassy in Havana. Debate about the relationship between the United States and Cuba is far from over, but the historic change was followed closely by people who were born in Cuba and left as children and young adults.
NMiF producer sat down with Margie Diaz Kintz, Victor Alvarez (Savor Cuban street music) and Bernardo Monserrat to talk about their early memories of Cuba and what it was like to come to the US alone in their early teens.
