New Mexico GOP Goes to Texas for Convention

May 14, 2021 – New Mexico’s Republican Party leaders will hold their upcoming convention in the Lone Star State. GOP leaders say limitations on gatherings in New Mexico forced them to cross the border to hold their “Operation Freedom” spring convention this weekend – a decision that doesn’t sit well with the state’s Democratic Party and even with some stalwart Republicans. The Line opinion panel looks at the implications of the move, both politically and economically.
