Our Land: Proposed Bills This Legislative Session, The Line Discusses The Beginnings of Michelle Lujan Grisham’s Term
This week on New Mexico in Focus, Correspondent Laura Paskus brings us this month’s segment of “Our Land: New Mexico’s Environmental Past, Present and Future.” She sits down with Senator Peter Wirth and Representative Gail Armstrong to talk about proposed bills related to water and the environment that will be presented in the upcoming legislative session. They also look at how non-partisan issues, such as clean and accessible water, can be de-politicized.
Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists look at the actions of New Mexico’s new governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham – from her cabinet picks, to her inauguration and her first days in office. They analyze some of her recent decisions, like her executive order to end PARCC testing. The Line also discusses some of the bills filed in advance of the start of next week’s legislative session, and debate the merits of Albuquerque City Council’s proposed ban on non-reusable plastics.
