Special Interest Money in Campaigns


November 6, 2020 – NMiF producer Matt Grubs talks with Kathleen Sabo, the executive director of New Mexico Ethics Watch, about how campaign spending by special interest groups influenced New Mexico races. Once again, the oil and gas industry spent big in races across the state. Groups like Anytown for Gun Safety also spent big. And ahead of the legislative session, there’s been an uptick in spending by payday lending groups.
