The Biden Climate Plan and New Mexico’s Oil and Gas

February 5, 2021 – Climate change is an important issue for New Mexico. But so is the economic impact of the oil and gas industry. As part of a series of stories looking at how President Joe Biden’s executive order on climate change might affect the state, correspondent Laura Paskus talks with New Mexico State University economist Jim Peach about the pause on new oil and gas leases on some federal lands—and the need to diversify away from fossil fuels.
