The Line: Midterm Election Results

November 9, 2018 – New Mexico made election history by sending a Native American woman to congress for the first time when Deb Haaland won the election in Congressional District 1.  In Congressional District 2, Xochitl Torres Small made a surprise come-from-behind win. Michelle Lujan Grisham pulled out a big win over Steve Pearce by nearly 14 points. Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists look at the impacts of these races and New Mexico’s part in two big trends…the so-called “Blue Wave” and the “Year of the Woman.”
