The Line: Premium Increase Request From BlueCross BlueShield Rejected by NM Officials
August 14, 2015 – Local media reported this week that BlueCross BlueShield of New Mexico did not receive approval from the state Office of the Superintendent of Insurance for a requested 51 percent premium increase.
Albuquerque Business First reports that other insurance companies requested premium increases of 2 to 7 percent. BlueCross BlueShield officials told the paper that the company now plans to stop offering insurance plans through the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange in 2016.
