The Line: The Latest In The Albuquerque Police Department

June 15, 2018 – Albuquerque Mayor Tim Killer named a new police chief this week. Michael Geier previously served as interim chief and still needs to be confirmed by the city council. City officials also told local media that Albuquerque is in compliance with the U.S. Department of Justice consent decree that requires changes in APD to address excessive use of force in the department.
