Women in NM’s Legislature
March 26, 2021 – Accusations from female lawmakers of hostile treatment within the halls of the Roundhouse escalated towards the end of the session when Sen. Daniel Ivy-Soto was accused of bullying fellow Democrat and Senate president pro tem Mimi Stewart as she presented her mandatory sick leave bill. The Line opinion panel looks at whether women are being mistreated in the Legislature, even as they achieve more positions of power in the Roundhouse.
